Each week here at InstaIreland we fire out a couple of tunes to add to your road trip playlist to keep your ears happy as you travel!

Over the last four weeks or so we’ve featured road trip bangers from the likes of the Cranberries, Walking on Cars and Kodaline.

This week, it’s another relatively old-school cracker in the form of Trying To Pull Myself Away by Glen Hansard

The song was originally written as part of the soundtrack for the movie Once which starred Hansard and which has since gone on to become a multi-award-winning Broadway musical.

The story follows a busker, played by Hansard, and another struggling musician, played by Markéta Irglová, as they navigate through an eventful week in Dublin which sees the duo write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story.

It all sounds a bit soppy but it’ll be a welcome addition to any travel playlist! Give it a listen and pop your suggestions in the comment section below.
