Every few weeks we fire out a couple of tunes to add to your Irish road trip playlist to keep your ears happy as you travel!

Over the last four weeks or so we’ve featured road trip bangers from the likes of the Cranberries, Walking on Cars and Kodaline.

This week, it’s another old-school belter – ‘Postcards’, from the Blizzards.

Postcards is one of those songs that it’s near impossible not to feel a connection to, as it’s written about losing a loved one.

Speaking back at the time of its release, lead singer Bressie described what inspired the track:

“Basically the band went through a period of time when we lost people close to us and everybody was in a bad place and we just found out the hardest thing, we felt, was the fact that we didn’t get to say goodbye to the people that we lost. I think that’s the hardest part about losing someone.”

Give it a listen above. You’ll find it tricky to not keep tapping that replay button.
